College Academic Committee (CAC)

The College Academic Committee (CAC) is a statutory and advisory body constituted to promote academic excellence, ensure quality education, and facilitate the effective implementation of academic policies and programs. The committee serves as a platform for academic planning, monitoring, review, and continuous improvement of teaching-learning processes within the institution.

Objectives of the Committee

  • To promote and maintain high academic standards in the institution.
  • To plan, monitor, and review academic activities and programs.
  • To ensure effective implementation of the curriculum prescribed by the affiliating university.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Formulate academic plans and strategies for the smooth conduct of teaching-learning activities.
  • Monitor curriculum delivery and ensure completion of syllabi within the stipulated time.
  • Review academic performance of students and recommend measures for improvement.
  • Suggest innovative pedagogical practices, including ICT-enabled teaching methods.
  • Coordinate with departments regarding academic calendars, timetables, and examination schedules.
  • Promote research culture, skill development, and interdisciplinary learning.
  • Recommend academic policies and reforms in line with institutional goals and university guidelines.
  • Facilitate faculty development programs, workshops, seminars, and conferences.
  • Ensure adherence to quality benchmarks prescribed by regulatory and accreditation bodies.
  • Address academic concerns and provide recommendations for effective resolution.

Functions of the Committee

  • Preparation and implementation of the Academic Calendar.
  • Periodic review of teaching-learning processes and academic progress.
  • Monitoring attendance, internal assessment, and student performance.
  • Organizing academic audits and quality enhancement initiatives.
  • Recommending introduction of value-added, certificate, and skill-based courses.
  • Encouraging use of modern educational technologies and digital learning resources.
  • Reviewing examination results and identifying areas requiring academic intervention.
  • Promoting research activities, publications, and collaborative academic initiatives.
  • Coordinating academic events such as seminars, workshops, guest lectures, and conferences.
  • Supporting student mentoring, remedial coaching, and academic counseling activities.
  • Maintaining records of committee meetings, recommendations, and action taken reports.
  • Assisting the institution in achieving its academic vision, mission, and strategic objectives.
